noordkantoor is a two-floor space in newly hip Amsterdam Noord, located the first stop from Central Station on the new Noord-Zuidlijn, and a ten minute bike ride from the ferries from either IJplein or the all-nighter straight from CS across the IJ (to the Adam Tower and the Eye Filmmuseum).
The space has two floors, the groundfloor portion housing the toilet/shower and the music room (for practicing, rehearsing, teaching, and equipped with two Mackie active monitors, a digital piano, some random amps, and drums that may be used under certain conditions), while upstairs there’s the guest room, which can also be used as an office, or the other way around (with a comfortable sofa bed, desk, shelves for whatever you bring, linens & towels), and the kitchen (shared between users of the music room and the office unless otherwise agreed) which has a large table with chairs, the usual appliances, and a bookshelf full of books on travel, history, and art, with special attention for the most interesting city in the world: Amsterdam.
Several food options (take-out &/ sit-down) are available on the same street (Italian, burgers, Hawaiian poké bowls, coffee (and you can book your next adventure motorcycle trip too); and there’s a quickly growing number of other options in the area, from Thai take-out to Expocafé Zamen, a nice waterfront café & gallery (food, art, cakes, excellent coffee), from vegetarian lunches to the Skatecafe. Several supermarkets and a night shop (open till 3 am) are located within walking distance, and so is a petrol station, for tobacco and small groceries. Also close by are two good yoga schools, a climbing gym, a martial arts studio, and the park Vliegenbos.
